There are two particular filming locations in Norh Vancouver. The beach scene from episode 1.06 was filmed at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver Address: 7102 Marine Dr, West Vancouver, BC V7W 2T3 The lighthouse is not actually there, but was added digitally afterwards.
There is car parking by the beach, which is popular with surfers.
Although the lighthouse is not actually there, it is possible to climb up and stand where the lighthouse would have been.
The Delusional cottage from episode 2.08 was filmed in two places. The interior scenes were filmed in North Vancouver at Murdo Frazer Park. Caretaker’s Cottage, Address: 2720 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver, V7R 3X5
The Caretaker’s Cottage is a popular filming location. The first time I went there, I recognised it from Stargate SG1. At that time, there was a lot of renovation work going on. But now the work is finished and there is a nice plaque commemorating some of the shows filmed there, including Motherland.
It is not possible to go inside the cabin, but it was possible to see through the curtain at one of the windows. Getting a photo was very difficult, but this is part of the fireplace that we see at the cottage.
